The difference in rate of flow of heat in various metals may be observed. The conductivity bar set features sensitive liquid crystal temperature indicators attached to the front of each of the four metal bars (steel, brass, aluminum and copper). suspend the bar set over freshly hot water in a 250ml beaker, within seconds a visible \"heat pulse\' travels up the copper bar while the steel bar takes several minutes.
